Yeah that sounds pretty serious. I’d try to first identify the viruses / spyware that is infecting your computer and then once they’ve been identified, eliminate them. Go here and download a program called Hijack This: http://www. SpywareInfo. com / ~ merijn / programs. phpThen, after you’ve downloaded it, run it, but DO NOT tell it to fix anything or DO NOT check anything. Just let it scan and save it to a log file. After you do that, either copy and paste or just attach the file here: http://www. CastleCops. com/f67-Hijackthis_Spyware_Viruses_Worms_Trojans_Oh_My. htmlor here: http://www. security-forums. com / view forum. php? f = 48Ask people there what does not look right and they can tell you specifically what’s wrong and what specific tool to remove it. Another tool to use, which does not require any help from people is to download and install AVG Anti-Spyware 7th 5: http://www. grisoft. com/doc/31/us/crp/0? prd = ASWI know, you said it would not let you install anti-virus or anti-spyware apps. I’ve got a solution for that too if it will not let you install that either. Go here and do a free online virus scan. It will also repair some files too. http://housecall. TrendMicro. com / Last, but certainly not least. . . . you can download and install this. What’s great about this program is that you run it in safe mode where the virus hopefully will not be active since Safe Mode loads only a minimal amount of drivers. . . . almost none. The program is called SmitFraudFix. http://siri. geekstogo. com / SmitfraudFix. phpJust follow the instructions (they’re very easy) and hopefully it will remove all of them or at least the nasty one (s) that are keeping your computer from installing anti-virus programs and disabling your firewall. You can unzip SmitFraudFix in normal Windows mode, but to run it, you should use Safe Mode. I do not know if you know how to get into Safe Mode or not, but if you do not, you just hit F8 when the computer is just starting up. . . as soon as it starts showing the BIOS info and such, you hit F8 and then a selection screen will come up and you can choose what to do and you’ll want to pick Safe Mode. If any of the solutions I’ve posted here will not work, then the only other thing you can do is to reformat your computer and do a reinstall of Windows, but I would think one of my solutions will work. If you want to, you could simply start with trying the SmitFraudFix immediately and then go from there. Once you can get your firewall back up and use of anti-virus, you should be OK. A very good anti-virus is AVG. Not only is it the best free anti-virus out there (IMO), but it’s better than many fee-based ones. I tested Kaspersky anti-virus, and it’s rated # 1 and # 2 by many sites and it did not find anything that AVG did not and I was VERY impressed by that. Plus, AVG is fully Windows Vista 32 and 64-bit compatible. It uses very little resources too! I hope this helps!
