OK, be calm! the alert that tells you you have spyware IS SPYWARE! it should not do Major harm but it may be hard to get rid of it. its a common and dirty trick you into clicking now to blag a box that looks like a windows report, and downloading a file onto your pc. If you are not an expert it can take you days or worse for you to sort this out. if you are an expert, it can quietly take days! try searching the forums for manual uninstall instructions. you should do ctrl-alt-del and click processes tab and see whats running under your name. some are essential to windows, one will be the offending item. just whatever you do, dont click on the box that warned you about the spyware and follow the instructions! all it wants to do is direct you to download their “anti-spyware ‘which will then scan and tell you you have a problem (even if you dont) then try and charge you for software to fix the errors. Is it a scam to get cash out of you, and it will install even more bugs and spyware onto your pc. try restoring to in earlier save point with system restore, it may work (not putting any money on it) if you can, i recommend you reformat your hard drive, (you do keep up to date back ups do not you?) and reinstall windows from scratch. after this, dont download anything onto your PC unless you know it is safe. even if it looks like a proffesional setup with famous names and websites, its not safe. even microsoft have put out spyware! I have given up anti spyware and virus software for years now, i have had few problems. i just resist the temptation to click click click whenever a box tells me to.
