I have a Dell Studio 17 (Model 1747). A few days ago, I woke up, check my email, played some Minecraft, and closed the lid. I went to turn it on a few hours later, and it didn’t work. Just straight up would not power on. Battery was fully charged, no viruses or malware (I’ve got several quality protection programs). I called Dell, and long story short, they replaced the motherboard. Bam, it works. The technician leaves, and I log in, let all the hardware drivers re-install, and it is slooooooow as all hell. I’ve got an i7 processor, 6 GB RAM… this shouldn’t be happening. I have, so far:
-Done a performance troubleshoot
-Defragmented my hard drive
-Cleared my browser cache
-Run a complete hardware diagnostic
All clean. Any suggestions?

Do a system recovery if, still slow, something is still wrong and call them up again. Why am i being voted down? I’m a tech and I’ve worked in the industry support for these companies. They are gonna ask you to do a recovery anyway so you may as well just do it. If its still slow, there is not much else to be done and they need to do more work on it. its that simple.
Call Dell again. A computer with those specs should not be slow. They must have given you a faulty motherboard. This time do not let the Technition leave until your computer is working fast and fine.
The tech should have checked this before he left.
remove old software, re defragment your hard drive, if that does not help, your up the creek with out a paddle
My will be suggesting to reinstall the OS that will rule out any software issue. Comp problem are mainly software or hardware. After you reinstall OS and yous system is still slow then probably your hard disk has gone bad
