Just recently, my computer was infected with a virus and/or spyware. I ran spybot search and destroy, symantec antivirus, malwarebytes, and Superantispyware. After doing scans with all 4 of those programs, it looks like the infection is finally gone. The reason why I say this is that my computer does not freeze up anymore. However, I still keep getting pop-up ads when I use Mozilla Firefox. How do I get rid of them? I never had pop-up ads before. Is it possible that the spyware infection lowered the security settings for Mozilla?

Use Firefox and get the ad-on Adblock Plus. So, go to download. com and get Glary Utilities. No more problems for you ever.

If your still getting pop ups yet your not clean. Run your scans again, if they find anything in system restore, turn off system restore, then scan again, when I clean turn on System Restore.
See if this tool could help: http://www. fix error. infoIt has a one-button feature for fixing everything.
Try booting into safe mode and scanning with your anti-spyware programs there. I would then delete all copies of previous System Restore. To do this, run disk cleanup in the Start Menu>> Accesories>> System Tools directory. Click on “More Options” and hit the “Clean up..” Button under the system restore part of the window. You may also want to go back to the main part of disk cleanup and remove everything except the WebClient / Publisher Temporary Files. So, yes, it is possible that the spyware may have messed with the security settings. To check if this is so, go to Tools>> Options. . . in Firefox. Make sure both items are checked under the cookies part of the window. Once you have confirmed this, click the “Clear Now…” Button under the Private Data button part of the window and check everything and then hit “Clear Private Data Now”. To Prevent spyware from ever getting onto your computer, download spyware blaster java cool software from: http://www. java cool software. com / SpywareBlaster. html download it and install it (close any open browser you may have before doing the install). Inside SpywareBlaster, update the definitions first by going to the “Updates” button and hitting “Check for Updates….” Once you have the most recent block definitions, simply go back to the “Protection Status” window and hit the “Enable All Protection”. What SpywareBlaster does is it adds a TON of bad sites (popups, porn sites, spyware infected sites, etc.) to both Firefox and Internet Explorer blocklists of bad websites. That way, should you come in contact with the sites via popup or by accidental browsing, the browser will not run any content on there and may even restrict access to it And thus keep you safe from any spyware from those sites. I hope this helped you solve your problem!
