Acer technicians keep telling me i should re-install windows and i keep telling them over and over that i would like to try other options before doing this. I have made this very clear that i do not want to re-install windows until i have tried other troubleshooting steps, but they do not want to listen.
this is a nightmare. i always take good care of my computer and i am always having issues, frankly i do not think windows 7 is any better than vista.
i have the list of files that has caused the BSOD over 9 times in the past 3 months
ntoskrnl.sys
netio.sys
ntfs.sys
I am always able to boot windows afterwards, but i have tried so hard to stop it from happening. . troubleshooting steps i did with the previous times i got the BSOD was, cleaning my registry, doing a virus scan, Installing the proper drivers for my wireless mouse and updating flash player, uninstalling unused programs, and using the SFC/scannow in the administrator CMD window.I have also checked that my computer is free of malware and viruses and my antivirus program is updated,
i also ran startup repair on the windows installation disk and used the memory diagnostic tool a few days ago but i got the BSOD ofr the 10th time today.

Time for a new computer.
Google for “Acer Drivers Update Utility” to try, hope this helps, Good Luck!
