There are never 100% guarantee, but try this: If you have an anti-virus, make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run a scan with it in Safe Mode with Networking. That often Prevents malware from protecting itself. If you don t have one, many people here swear by AVG (it?’s Free). I suggest you also download Ad-Aware Free and Spybot S & D (they? Re free), install them, update them and run them, again in Safe Mode With Networking. So, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there. To get into Safe Mode with Networking: 1 Log out and reboot your machine. Second When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly. Third Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu. 4th Log In. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password. 5th The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different ‘. 6th When you’re finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode. Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes. Update and run everything regularly, not just when you think you already have malware. Good luck.
You have been a hi-jacked. . . and god knows what else they put in your computer. . download spy-bot search and destroy and update it fully. . . restart your computer fully do a scan if you do not have the program it should almost automatically delete the hijacker virus. . during the first scan keep it running in the back around and always update it. . . Not so sure if this will help but at least you’ll have an Idea. Try first to download a known brand of anti-spyware. Do not download the product that the pop up’s recommending you. See this site’s newsletter and see the known brands that can be used to to clear up the problem. http://systemsecurityinstitute. org / So you can try to see if system restore can do any thing. But perform the system restore in safe mode. Restore the computer to the time where you have not encounter it yet.
