I have had some issues with my laptop lately. I got a virus a couple of months ago, and it caused me to lose a lot of files and programs that were on my computer, as well in my start menu. I was able to isolate the virus and repair everything, but still dont have all the programs I once had. Also, every few days my screen will turn blue completely out of the blue (no pun intended) and I will get an error msg, which forces me to shut down by pressing and holding power button.
I do virus and malware check pretty much daily and all that is coming up fine now. However, I wanted to find out 1.) what I need to do to find out what is causing this blue screen error, and how I can fix it. Also, I want to find out 2.) if there is a way to retrieve those files and/or programs that I lost from the virus. Finally, I wanted recommendation on a good program I can download for free that can help pinpoint future issues like this and/or help me determine what I could do to improve the efficiency of the computer.

first of get a nice AntiVirus licensed Cause everything free is then not good if ur using windows 7 u have a option FR recovery and bout the blue screen also known as BSD (Blue Screen of Death), causing u to restart ur lappy thensee if you have a hardware problem, like a hard drive going bad or a video card driver problem the reason you’re computer is freezing or crashing is because of registry errors. this is biggest cause of problems like slow start up, shutdowns, blue screen error, slow applications and a general lack of computer performance.
Hi William, Firstly, you should get a third party data recovery software to retrieve your files on it. I have a good program called tenor Share data recovery on my computer that can recover data after scanning your hard drive deeply to look for lost data due to drive crash, virus attack, formatting and deletion, etc. You can search the internet to get it. Then perform a system restore to fix your laptop. Hope this helps!
blue screen of death occurs when the operating system is damaged because something or someone important modified files. you should reinstall the operating system as soon as possible. before you do make sure you back up your files. a hard drive enclosure will do wonders for you since it skips the operating system and Allows you to back up files without having to go through it. i use a BT-300 by topmicrousa which i would suggest you check out. after you are done backing up your files, reformat the operating system then recopy the files. if you have any other questions feel free to send me an email and ill be happy to help (^_^)/
blue screen could be caused by virus, or hardware issue. You can run a virus scan, and get your hardware checked out. To retrieve files, you can use recovery program, here’s one I used before http: / / www. Asoftech. com / adr /
