Because Norton is an anti-virus protector, i suggest you download anti-spyware software like spyware doctor or others. just go to microsoft. com.

Some anti-spyware programs do not detect certain things as threats. For example, Windows found a threat, but Norton does not find it a threat due to the different programmers, creators, etc. Spybot does not get the same as Windows, etc. It all depends. So, maybe if you look for an option screen were you could change the protection level, that could help.
If the pop-up is telling you to click on something: do not! Even though it looks genuine, this is probably a malicious pop-up that installs spy-ware when you click on OK. So, Norton might not have updated to this one yet, although that seems pretty unlikely. You could install another program like SpyBot spy-ware (free download) and see if that does it. There’s nothing wrong with running two spyware blockers.

you probably only have the Norton Anti-Virus. This is why it will not detect the spyware. Spyware is an annoyance more than a virus then a lot of anti-virus programs will not detect them with scans unless they are programmed to do Sun To find and get trid of spyware I use two programs and scan once a week with each.
