there is a red ‘x’ in the bottom right tray and if you hover, it says ‘windows has detected spyware infection’
i ran the AVG scan and it found and deleted some stuff but the pop up is still there.
i tried installing spybot but it wont open.
currently i’m scanning using Ad-adware.
is there a better spyware or what else can i do?

Titus is right but you should also download spybot search and destroy, ccleaner, and update both anti-malware programs. Turn off system restore (the virus could be hiding in there). Reboot into safe mode and run ccleaner and then the two anti-malware programs-one program usually does not catch everything. After running everything and reboot normally turn on system restore if everything seems normal. If you want detailed step-by-step instructions go to www.
